Education and Experience

Katarina, the founder of The Beat Flow Yoga&Music, has started her Yoga journey in Belgrade in 2013., where she started exploring the practice of the body, mind and will, with the help of the breath.

Katarina studied the Faculty of Music Art, gaining her Master in Arts degree in 2016., simultaneously performing and teaching music, while working on breathing techniques in both singing, running and yoga practice. Her long year experience in teaching music has led her to try herself in yoga teaching, where her very first students have had testimonials about feeling instantly like she has been their teacher and guide for years, where she successfully managed to overcome the gap between the unknown, new and the old, familiar.

 Yoga Community

Katarina has in the past decade developed the ability to produce effective instruction material content for her classes, as well as an ability to create a warm, welcoming environment both in class and on stage. In 2019., she became a member of the Artistic Yoga studio where she worked with Nepalese teacher who bravely created a liberating flow, naming it Artistic yoga. In 2020. She became a member of My Vinyasa Practice which was an Austin, Texas based online yogic community, which made her enthusiastic to create her own, global yogic community under the name The Beat Flow. She started teaching classes over two years ago, where she created dynamic lesson plans that have been very specifically designed to adapt to her student’s individual needs. In her classes she has managed to carefully monitor her student’s progress and growth.

Lineage

The lineage she follow comes all the way from Krishnamacharya and B.K.S. Iyengar on one side and Pattabhi Jois and Desikachar on the other side. Her teacher’s teachers were Shanti Kelley and Richard Miller from the USA, who were taught by Maty Ezraty and Annie Carpenter. Katarina’s teacher Michelle Young, a TX, Austin based teacher has established a yogic community that gave Katarina an opportunity to become involved in different yoga styles with the base in Patanjali’s 8 limbed path of yoga, that provides a holistic way of practicing yoga and implementation of it in our daily lives.
She is a certified 500 hour yoga teacher for Vinyasa flow, Yin yoga, Restorative yoga, Adaptive yoga, Yoga Nidra, Trauma Informed yoga and Sound healing practice.
